Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a home inspection cost?
Typically a full home inspection costs $350. For home inspections outside the immediate area there may be a travel fee involved. For home inspections of properties over 3,000 finished sq. ft., there will be an extra charge of $75 per 1,000 sq. ft.

What do you inspect during a full home inspection?
I cover virtually everything I can reach or get my hands on. This includes the exterior, roofing systems, attic, interiors, structure, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, garage, insulation and ventilation, and appliances.

What is radon gas and what is the cost to inspect?
Radon is a cancer causing radioactive gas. You cannot see, smell, or taste radon, but it may be a problem in your home. The Surgeon General has warned that radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer in the United States. The typical fee for radon testing is $150. I use Sun Nuclear Digital Radon Testing devices that are tamper proof and can provide immediate results. For more information about radon, give us a call or visit the EPA website.

How quickly can we expect the report back from the home inspection?
I will have the full report to you by noon the next day, but many times earlier.

Do we/should we attend the home inspection?
I always prefer that my clients are present for a “walk-through” of the home to go over any findings, but if you are unable to make it, you will find that my reports are very thorough and if you have a question about anything, I will always be available.

What types of payment do you accept?
We accept cash, checks, credit cards and Venmo.
